Take advantage of private laboratory centres

Kumasi, June 9, GNA – The Director of Bekamas Medlabx and Diagnostics Centre, Mr Kwadwo Omono Asamoah, has called for partnership between medical professionals and private laboratories to enhance the quality of care received by patients.

Most of the centres, he said, were equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that might not be available at the hospitals to allow for accurate and quick laboratory investigations and diagnostics results.

He said it was on account of this that they needed to collaborate.

Mr Asamoah was speaking to newsmen as part of the Bekamas third anniversary celebration in Kumasi.

He said 93when patients are told that nothing was seen in specimen presented, they become confused, forcing them to turn to herbalists, pastors and others for treatment.”

He said it was therefore important doctors ensure thorough laboratory investigations were done in order to diagnose illnesses and prescribe right treatment.
