Swedru SDA prays for peaceful Jubilee celebration

Agona Swedru, Mar 4, GNA – The Swedru District branch of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church on Saturday, organised special prayers for the peaceful celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Ghana’s Independence at Agona Swedru.

Pastor Richard Ntriakwa, Head Pastor said prayed for wisdom for the leaders and prosperity for the nation.

He called on Christians and Muslims not to exhibit love only in their churches and mosque, but to extend it to others. “As the Nation celebrates its 50th anniversary, Christians and Muslims should be born again and be faithful in all their endeavours to accelerate economic, social and political growth,” he prayed. The service coincided with the “International Women’s Day of Prayers”, which fell on Saturday. Pastor Ntriakwa stated that faithfulness and truth would help the nation to improve the economy and stop relying on external donors for development. He said this could be achieved through patriotism on the part of those holding positions of trust.

Pastor Ntriakwa urged Ghanaians to give peace and love a chance to enable them to solve problems confronting the nation collectively. Mrs. Vida Donkoh, Swedru District Women’s Ministries Leader, asked Ghanaians, especially women to intensify prayers for peace, unity and tenacity of purpose to promote the country’s development. She noted that they had to be steadfast with their prayers since women and children were most vulnerable in times of conflict.
