Susu collector granted bail for alleged stealing

Cape Coast, Jan. 16, GNA-A susu collector with the Abura branch of the Twifo Rural Bank, Sarah Eshun, was on Tuesday granted 35 million cedis bail by a circuit court at Cape Coast for allegedly stealing an amount of 33 million

cedis being monies she had colleted from customers of the bank. She pleaded not guilty to stealing and is to reappear on Thursday, February 1.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court, presided over by Mr Beresford Acquah that the accused was employed by the bank sometime in August last year as susu collector to collect monies from customers of the bank.

He said during audit checks on her accounts from August last year to January this year, it was detected that she could not account for an amount of 33 million cedis and the matter was reported to the police.
