Suspected criminals remanded

Tarkwa, May 25, GNA – A Tarkwa circuit court has remanded eight suspected criminals between the ages of 22 and 35 for being in possession of suspected narcotics drugs without authority. They will re-appear on June 6. The accused persons are Stephen Addae, John Boadu, John Amoah, Joshua Obeng, Alex Hammond, Micheal Awuah, Francis Busumuru and Charles Agbenu.

Police Inspector Wisdom Nuworkpor said on May 21, police had a tip off that criminals had been attacking people using the path leading to the police barracks. He said the police moved in and arrested the accused persons and they had in possession seven scissors, six knives, two cutlasses, seven touch lights, one plier, six parcels of dried leaves and seventy six wrappers of dried leaves all suspected to be Indian hemp. They also had in their possession six candles, one shovel, three iron rods, three spoons, and six boxes of matches.
