Sunyani market women appeal for improvement in sanitation

Sunyani (B/A) Sept. 2 GNA – The Sunyani Market Women Association on Thursday appealed to the Sunyani Municipal Assembly to improve sanitation at the Sunyani Central market. Nana Aboaa Boahemaa, Secretary of the Association, made the appeal when Mr. Kwame Twumasi-Awuah, Municipal Chief Executive, paid a familiarisation tour of the market.

She expressed concern about the lack of a waste disposal site at the market and poor drainage system. Nana Boahemaa said there was inadequate security at the Market.

Mr. Twumasi-Awuah expressed concern about the illegal Electricity connections, poor drainage system and the deplorable conditions at the market.

He gave the assurance that the Assembly would work hard to help improve conditions at the market.

Mr. Twumasi-Awuah also visited the Ghana National Association of Garages where Mr. George Barfi-Mensah, Chairman of the Association appealed to the Assembly for assistance to complete its electrification project, rehabilitate roads in the area and provide them with rubbish containers.
