Sunyani Hospital gets medicals

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has supplied a large consignment of assorted medical equipment to the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital, Sunyani to promote healthcare delivery in the region.

The donation was part of the national programme dubbed “National Medical Equipment Replacement Project” aimed at replacing outmoded and malfunction hospital equipment in some selected medical facilities across the country.

The nationwide project which is to ensure efficiency at the country’s hospitals is at a total cost of GH¢250million. Medical equipment donated to the Sunyani Regional Hospital included hospital beds and mattresses, mobile X-Ray machines, wheel chairs, general instrument sets, orthopedic surgical sets, anaesthetic machine and its accessories, incubators, emergency theatre lamps with battery backups, ECG machines, OPG machines, chemistry analysers, dental chairs, composite light curing machines, among many others.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Jacob Abebrese, who received the items, thanked the ministry for the gesture.

He however called on the government to make it a routine exercise to replace malfunctioned equipment in time so as to save more lives.
