An 18-year-old student, Jeoffery Ashinyo, was on Wednesday put before an Accra circuit court for allegedly sodomising an 11-year -old pupil at Amanfrom near Kasoa.
Ashinyo is charged with defilement and pleaded not guilty.
The court presided over by Ms Sedinam Agbemava remanded Ashinyo into police custody to reappear on April 17.
Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sarah Acquah told the court that the complainant was the boy’s father.
According to ASP Acquah, both the boy and the accused reside at Brigade, near Amanfrom and on February 15 the complainant was informed by a neighbour that someone had been having anal sex with his son.
The prosecution said the complainant quizzed his son who told him it was Ashinyo who had been having anal sex with him.
The boy said Ashinyo had warned him not tell anyone even after the fifth time. ASP Acquah said the complainant made a report to the police and Ashinyo was arrested.
