?Stop the extra classes? -Minister

The Ministry of Education ordered striking teachers to stop organizing extra classes for students for various fees.

Education Minister, Yaw Osafo-Marfo says any teacher caught will be dealt with.

He has also urged head masters of schools where this practice is going on to disallow students from attending such fee-paying classes.

? It is just not right that students who have paid their full term fees and are entitled to be taught, you embark on a strike action and then arrange clandestinely to teach these students later in the evening and charge a fee for each student,? he says.

He says student who are unable to pay for those private fees are not allowed into those classes.

He described the move as immoral because they are collecting their monthly salary for no official work.

The Ministry has also ordered the striking teachers to go back to the classrooms or forfeit their salaries for June.
