STMA confirms Captain Cudjoe as MCE

Sekondi, April 7, GNA – The Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan

Assembly (STMA), on Wednesday, unanimously confirmed

Captain Rtd Anthony Cudjoe as its new Metropolitan Chief

Executive (MCE). Captain Cudjoe was fully endorsed by all the seventy

appointed and elected assembly members present, prompting

jubilations and merry-making among his supporters. Captain Rtd Cudjoe in his acceptance speech recognised the

challenges that has bedeviled the assembly over the years and

called on all and sundry to help push the development agenda of

the metropolis forward. “The show of solidarity and support this morning attest to

your readiness to win the battle, the work ahead indeed requires

hard work and we will have to re-strategize to get things done”,

he added. Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister,

commended the assembly members for their sense of purpose

and urged them not to be influenced by partisan-politics, as well

as, unduly interfering in the running of the assembly, to ensure

accelerated development of the metropolis. He urged the new MCE to avoid discrimination and rather

have a listening ear for all. Mr Aidoo also urged party supporters and members of the

assembly not to seek undue favour, in terms of award of contract

and other assembly businesses, which according to him always

created problems. Mr Mamoud Ali, the Presiding Member of the STMA, re-

echoed the need to move the metropolis forward in order to meet

the development needs of the area and the region as a whole.
