STC would have collapsed if ?.

The Ashanti Regional Manager of the Intercity State Transport Company (STC), Mr Paa Kofi Fynn, has noted that the STC would have collapsed if the NPPgovernment had not terminated the agreement the company had with VANEF.

He pointed out that since the NDC government sold STC to the VANEF, they brought in only one bus to the company.

Mr Fynn said this at a send-off party organised by Intercity STC for their old time Agent at Dormaa Ahenkro, Mr George Benjamin Yeboah, who has gone on retirement after serving the company for forty-four years.

Mr Fynn disclosed that since the NPP government took over the STC from VANEF in 2001, the new company, Intercity STC, has bought a significant number of buses including air-conditioned ones with other modern facilities which will be working in all the ten regions.

Ironically, a cheque of two million cedis was presented to Mr Yeboah.
