Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, has thrown his support behind Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars as they prepare for their continental assignments in the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League.
Mr Adams paid separate visits to the two clubs this week, offering words of encouragement before their crucial fixtures against Nigeria’s Kwara United and Algeria’s JS Kabylie. He emphasised the importance of representing Ghana with pride and determination on the African stage.
As part of his show of support, the Minister donated GH₵10,000 to each club, assuring players, coaches and management of the government’s commitment to their success.
“You carry the hopes of a nation with you,” Mr Adams told the teams. “We believe in your ability to compete and excel. The government and the people of Ghana are fully behind you.”
The gesture has been warmly received by both sides, with officials noting that the backing of the Ministry provides a morale boost as they aim to advance in their respective competitions.
Kotoko will battle Kwara United in their Confederation Cup clash, while GoldStars face a stern test against North African giants JS Kabylie in the Champions League preliminaries.
