Spiritualist killed on eve of New Year

Moro Mumuni, 47, is being held by the Akontobra Police in the Western Region, in connection with the death of a 55-year old spiritualist, Charles Taylor, popularly called Mallam, on the eve of the New Year.

Sources close to the Western Regional Crime Office, told the GNA in Sekondi on Thursday that an informant, Owusu Achiaw, reported the case to the Akontombra Police.

Achiaw told the Police that on 31st December last year, around 0045 hours, his mother-in-law, Akua Afia, told him that she heard someone screaming outside the house.

The informant told the police that when he went to ascertain what was happening, he found Taylor, his tenant, in anguish, according to the sources.

The informant said Taylor told him that he was assaulted by Mumuni, because, he owed him GHc 80.

The source said Taylor died when he was being rushed to hospital, and the body has been deposited at the Sefwi-Wiawso Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
