Speaker consoles Annan’s Family

Accra, July 17, GNA – The Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi Hughes, on Monday called on the family of the late Justice Daniel Francis Annan, former Speaker of Parliament and expressed his condolence to the bereaved family at Pokuase, near Accra. Mr Freddie Blay, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Kenneth Techie, Clerk of Parliament and other officials accompanied him. Mr Christopher C. Annan, Secretary to the family of the late Justice Annan, who welcomed the delegation introduced them to the bereaved family including the wife, Mrs. Rosatta Annan. Mr. Justice Annan passed away at the 37 Military Hospital on Sunday after a short illness. Funeral arrangements would be announced later.

Mr. Jones Kugblenu, Director of Communication of Parliament said the former Speaker contributed immensely to the strengthening of Ghana’s Parliament in the Fourth Republic and democracy in general. The Speaker, Mr Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes later signed the book of condolence.
