Space FM Loses Adopted Student

Wednesday, the 20th of July, 2005, goes down in the history of Sunyani based Space FM as one of its darkest days with the passing away of Muniru Abubakari, a final year science student of the Twene Amanfo Technical Secondary School, (TASTECH) in Sunyani.

Muniru, whose academic performance thrilled the management of Space FM, nearly lost the opportunity to write his final examination when with just a couple of days to close registration for the examination; he had no money to register

He appealed to Space FM for assistance through Kwabena Kyere(Stuggard) a Sports Presenter at the Station who had taught Muniru at TASTECH, and the response was heaven sent.

The Director and General Manager of the station, Mr. Ransford Antwi, noted for his benevolent activities, paid the registration and other related fees for young, enterprising Muniru and subseququently promised to look after him till he finished University.

Unfortunately, death did not allow the brilliant student to complete what he had started as a student. He died after a short illness with only days to finish his final examinations.

Mr.Antwi, who openly wept at Muniru?s funeral expressed sadness and shock at the loss of a boy who gave him great joy and who was to become a star as his name depicted.
