SOTN: Mahama’s promises aimed at his re-election – Greenstreet

The General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, has stated that the numerous promises by President John Mahama during his state of the nation address on Thursday are aimed at getting him re-elected in 2016.

According to him, although most of the promises the President gave appear impossible to achieve within the time frame, he hopes they will be attained.

President Mahama yesterday gave his 3rd state of the Nation address in parliament, which was interlaced with numerous promises, including his commitment to ending the erratic power supply in the country.

Speaking to StarrFMonline.com after the address, Greenstreet said it is in the interest of the President to find solutions to the problems facing the country.

“…..Even if we decide to look at it from his own selfish perspective; he wants to be re-elected as a president.

“So it is in his own interest to find solutions to the problems, so I don’t think he is going to do nothing, but the problems are large,” he stated.
