A military officer and five other persons have been arrested by the Brong Ahafo regional Police for alleged robbery.
The soldier, Staff Sergeant Alhassan Hameed, 42, was arrested alongside, Sherrif Adams 31, Osei Kuffour 32, Kwadwo Francis 25, Exmond Barwuah, 27 and Kwabena Yeboah, 32.
Briefing the media on the arrest Thursday, the Brong Ahafo regional Police Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Alhaji Mahama Arhin said the Police had a tipoff that the suspects had gone to Wenchi- a town in the region- to rob the Catholic Cooperative Society for Development (BACCSOD ).
According to Arhin, the Police Patrol Team then mounted a barrier at Yawhima on the Sunyani-Techiman road where the six were eventually arrested.
Sherrif Adam, also known as Alhaji Fresh, was allegedly involved in the robbery of Thonker Limited, a Nestle Distributor last year, and is currently out on bail.
Items found on the suspects included, a pistol, 4 mobile phones, 2 knives and a military uniform.
