Soil research ladies club donate to orphans

Denase, (Ash), Dec. 21, GNA 96 Members of the Soil Research Institute (SRI) Ladies Club in Kumasi on Tuesday donated assorted items worth 10 million cedis to the inmates of Ashan Children’s Village at Denase in the Afigya Sekyere district. The items included provisions, clothes, rice, maize, beans, cooking oil and bathroom sandals.

Mrs Hectoria Harker, President of the Club, who presented the items on behalf of the members said the gesture was their widow’s mite towards the upkeep of the kids in the orphanage. She asked for God’s guidance and help to the kids and gave an assurance that the Club would continue to support the orphanage in the years ahead. Mr Jim Akwasi Konadu, executive director of the Village, who received the items thanked the Club for their immense support to the kids and asked for God’s blessings to the members. He announced that 60 kids were currently in the orphanage.
