Society presents polytank to hospital

Saltpond (C/R), Jan. 7, GNA – Mothers Union, a charitable society within the Saltpond Saints Peter and Paul Anglican Church, has presented a polytank and some food items valued at 1.5 million cedis to the Children’s Ward of the Saltpond Government Hospital.

Mrs Mary Sakyiama, a Diocesan Worker and leader of the Union who presented the items, said the gesture was to bring some happiness to children who were on admission in the ward.

Mrs Sakyiama appealed to Christians to support the sick and destitute in their plight as Jesus Christ did.

Miss Margaret Minnah, Matron of the hospital who received the items, said the polytank had come at an opportune time when the acute water problem facing Saltpond and its environs was at its peak. Miss Minnah said the hospital needed more of such polytanks to help to contain the perennial water problem and appealed to societies and individuals to help.

She commended the Mothers Union for its support for the ward.
