Two men in court for defiling minors

Ajumako (C/R), Feb 24, GNA – A 31-year-old driver, who abducted a 14-year old girl for 38 days during which he allegedly abused her sexually, has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢500 with one surety by the Ajumako district magistrate’s court. The accused, Joseph Soah, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector B. B. Amenuku, told the court, presided over by Mr. Kwasi Boakye Enimil, that Soah and the girl lived at Amia-Bu, near Ochiso in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam district of the Central region. Inspector Amenuku said on January 8, this year, Soah lured the girl to his room and kept her until he was arrested upon a tip-off on Feb. 14. In another development, the court remanded Patrick Oppong, 30, a driver from Brofoyedru, in prison custody for defiling a minor. Oppong, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear before the court on Feb. 25 2009.
