Six-unit classroom block handed-over to Hassaniya Islamic School

Ellembelle (W/R), Jan. 23, GNA – A six-unit classroom block and a t= wo unit KVIP, has been completed at Hassaniya Islamic Primary

School in Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District of Western Region. The project, which started in July 2009 and funded under the Commun= ity Based Rural Development Programme (CBRDP) in two

phases, was constructed at a cost of GH¢45,753.40 by TURKTIM Company Limited. At the handing-over ceremony, the District Coordinating Director of=

the Ellembelle Assembly, Mr Philip Baazeng called on the

headmaster and teachers of the school to cultivate a maintenance culture. According to him, when a structure was put up to assist people, the= re was the need to maintain it in order to achieve the purpose

for which it was established. Mr Baazeng appealed to the assemblyman of the area to work together=

with the school’s Parent Teacher Association to provide

water to the school. The Headmaster of the school, Mr Yussif Usman Abakah was grateful to=

the Assembly for coming to their aid. According to him, he did not believe the National Democratic Congres= s’ administration would continue the project but was grateful. The contractor, Mr Joseph Turkson of TURKTIM Company Limited was grateful to the teachers and the headmaster of the school for

their cooperation. He said a major problem during the work was access to water. Later, Mr Turkson handed-over the keys of the blocks to the school authority. 23 Jan 10
