Six to contest for Eastern Region Council of State slot

Koforidua, Feb 02, GNA – Two chiefs are among five persons vying for the Eastern Region Council of State seat. They are challenging Mr Fred G. Ofori Atta Asante, the region’s representative on the council, in an election by a 34-member electoral college on February 8.

The chiefs are Nene Sakitey 11, Konor of Manya Krobo, and Nana Ampadu Daaduam, chief of Kwahu Mpareso.

The others are Mr Michael Agyekum Addo, a pharmacist, Mr Amaning Twum, an agriculturist and Mr Emmanuel Richard Ofori, a banker. Mr Sam Ntow, the Eastern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, said two representatives each of the 17 districts in the region would form the Electoral College.
