Sissala East District experiencing high HIV and AIDS cases

Tumu, March 3, GNA=96 The Sissala East District recorded 78 HIV/AIDS cases, a steady increase from 68 cases in 2008 and 71 cases in 2009. Mr. Joseph Bolibie, Sissala East District Director of Health Service said at the 2010 annual performance review in Tumu on Tuesday. He appealed to people in the district to be faithful, abstain or use the condom to help reduce the spread of the disease in the communities. Mr. Bolibie said testing and counseling services were available in all health facilities in the district and appealed to the people to take advantage of them to know their HIV and AIDS status.

He reminded the people about the emergence of the Cerebrum Spinal Meningitis and advised the people to avoiding overcrowding and endeavour to be sleeping well ventilated places. They should also report at the health facilities regularly to check fo= r the CSM, high blood pressure conditions and other diseases in them.
