Takoradi, June 1, GNA – An 18-year-old senior high school graduate, Benjanmin Opare of the Bompeh Senior High School, drowned last Wednesday when he and other students decided to swim at the Last Hour beach in Takoradi after completing their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.

The body was washed ashore on Thursday. It was discovered by some workers of the beach lying face-down with some parts missing. According to a cousin (name withheld) Opare, after writing his last English paper, decided to celebrate with friends at the beach. After some hours of swimming, the friends noticed his absence and raised an alarm. A search party was organised but the body could not be found and the group dispersed.
