Show more commitment in classrooms- Antwi

Duayaw-Nkwanta (Brong Ahafo) 27 Jan. ’99

Mr S. K. Antwi, Circuit supervisor of Duayaw-Nkwanta Basic Schols, has called on teachers to be more committed to their work in the classroom. He said falling standards of education in the district could be attributed to lack of commitment on the part of some teachers. Mr Antwi was addressing teachers drawn from basic schools in the circuit during a local Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) meeting at Duayaw-Nkwanta yesterday. The poor performance of the baseline test conducted recently in the Brong Ahafo region ”shows the true picture of what teachers are doing in the classrooms”. He warned that any teacher caught drunk during school hours would not be spared.
