Seven Parliamentary aspirants file nominations in two constituencies

Fomena (Ash), Oct 17, GNA – Seven candidates of various political parties on Thursday filed their nomination papers to contest parliamentary seats in the Fomena and Adansi-Asokwa constituencies. Madam Mercy Effe Wilson, Adansi North District Electoral Officer, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Fomena that all of them met the electoral requirements.

She named the candidates for Fomena constituency as Nana Abu Bonsrah for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Samuel Pinkrah for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr James Kobina Seotah, for Convention People’s Party (CPP) and Mr Augustine Kofi Tieku for the Democratic People’s Party (DPP).

The Adansi-Asokwa constituency candidates are Mr Kobina Tahir Hammond for the NPP, Alhaji Abdul Latif Madjub for NDC and Mr Amoako Anarfi for the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP). Madam Wilson said names of 1,129 people comprising minors and the dead were deleted from the voters’ register during the just-ended voter exhibition. She appealed to the candidates and their supporters to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner devoid of insults and violence.
