Senya Beraku launches Akomase festival

The Chairman of the Senya Beraku Urban Council, Mr Onassise Anderson, has appealed to people who have attained 18 years and above to register as voters.

He made the appeal at the launch of the 2012 Akomase festival of the chiefs and people of Senya Beraku.

The Tufuhene of Senya Beraku, Neenyi Kwa Bentum IV, launching the festival said the week long celebration would start in May.

Giving a short history about the festival, the Tufuhene said, Akomase is celebrated annually to hoot at Hunger and also recognize their ancestors.

Activities planned include health walk, educational talks, sports, harvest and non-denomination church service. There will be people’s assembly and a grand durbar to climax the festival.**
