Senior Catechist of the Catholic church commits suicide

A Senior Catechist of the St Theresah’s Catholic Church at Yawmatwa in the Bia West District of the Western Region has committed suicide.

Mr Joseph Asante 70 shot himself to death with a single barrel gun according to the Divisional Police Commander ASP Daniel Soga who confirmed the incident to mynewsgh.com a while ago.

It is not immediately known why the deceased committed the dastardly act because there was no suicide note at the scene and he also never showed any signs of mental challenges according to the police chief revealed.

“The incident happened at about 5:30am Monday. When we went to convey the body to the mortuary the wife also collapsed and we have since not been able to take her statement and verify from her what actually push his husband to take his life”, he said.

The body has since been released to the family for burial after postmortem was conducted on it yesterday to determine the actual cause of death.
