Security agencies in Ashanti to embark on exercise

Kumasi, Nov.12, GNA – As part of preparations towards the December general elections, a joint security training exercise will be conducted by members of the various security agencies in the Ashanti Region. The exercise codenamed “Exercise Peace Angel” and scheduled to begin from November 12 is aimed at sharpening skills and competencies of both officers and other ranks, to enable them provide adequate security before, during and after the elections to ensure peace in the country. A statement signed and issued in Kumasi by Major E. Aggrey-Quashie on behalf of the General Officer Commanding the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces said, the first training exercise would be held at the Police Recruit Training School in Kumasi for officers from the Military, Police, Fire Service, Immigration Service, Prisons Service and Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS). It said the second phase which would be a field exercise involving some selected ranks from the various security services would be held at different locations across the Region on November 16 and 17.
