Second-Year SHS Student electrocuted

Akim Osino, Nov. 9, GNA – A second year student of the Akim Osino Presbyterian Senior High School (SHS), Eric Asamoah, has been electrocuted with the news of his death shocking residents of town in the Fanteakwa District.

Briefing Ghana News Agency at Akim Osino, Mrs Caroline Duncan-Amoah, an assistant headmistress of the school, said the deceased, 18, was a day student and lived with some electricians in the town. She said during his leisure time, Asamoah normally accompanied the electricians to work in the town.

Mrs Duncan-Amoah said on that fateful day the deceased followed them for work when one of the electricians complained of a stomach problem. Asamoah reportedly used the materials of the sick electrician to climb a pole and attempted to do the work of an electrician but he was electrocuted and was rushed to Enyiresi Government Hospital but he died on the way. An autopsy was conducted and he has since been buried.
