SDA East Ghana Conference appoints new president

Pastor Samuel Bonya Arloor, has been appointed President of the East Ghana Conference of the Seventh – Day Adventist (SDA) Church.

The clergyman until his appointment was the Executive Secretary of the East Ghana Conference of the SDA Church, a position he had held since 2009.

He succeeded Pastor Adu Twumasi Ankra, whose four-year tenure of office comes to an end in August 31 this year and is also due for retirement after 43 years service to the church.

Pastor Arloor was appointed by delegates of the just ended first Quadrennial Session of the Church at Kukurantumi in the East Akyem Municipality.

He thanked the delegates and the church for the confidence reposed in him, and promised to continue with the good works of his predecessor, to achieve the five year strategic plan of the church.

Pastor Arloor asked pastors, evangelists and church members to intensify their evangelism to win more souls for Christ. Pastor Twumasi -Ankra, the out-going president, in a sermon, urged ministers of the gospel to ensure that they live above reproach as good ambassadors of God.
