Scrap dealer stabs man, 25, to death over wee

Police in Tamale in the Northern region are currently holding a 30-year-old scrap dealer Abdul Gafaru Amadu for stabbing to death a 25-year-old man over a wrap of weed.

The suspect and the deceased, Mugtaru Nurudeen, were involved in a scuffle over the wrap of Indian hemp at a popular base in Bilpela, a suburb of Tamale.

According to Police sources, the suspect took a knife in the course of the melee and stabbed the victim in the chest.

The Northern regional Police PRO ASP Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the incident to Starr News said investigations have commenced into the murder.

“After the misunderstanding ensued between them, a group of young approached them and tried to separate them but the suspect didn’t mind them and took a knife which he found around and stabbed the deceased to death. He is already in custody and investigations have begun,” he said.
