Save Our Waters Ghana to support 50th anniversary

Kumasi, Dec 8, GNA – Save Our Waters Ghana (SOWG), a non-governmental organization, has commended the Ghana @50 Secretariat for spearheading public campaign to keep Ghana clean at 50 and beyond. SOWG however appealed to the secretariat to include personal hygiene practices, provision of sanitary facilities and the enforcement of byelaws on sanitation in their campaigns.

Mr Patrick Oppong, the Executive Director of the NGO, said this after a four-hour clean-up exercise in the Kumasi metropolis. He said the 50th Jubilee was not to make merry but to take stock and make a fresh start on environmental sanitation and improved personal hygiene practices in the country.

“SOWG will put in an effort to make the 50th Independence anniversary a success”, he said.

Mr Oppong said some of the objectives of SOWG were to sensitize people on good sanitation.
