Sarkodie Chalks Huge Success With Rapperholic Homecoming In Kumasi Despite Heavy Rain

Ghana’s most decorated rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has made history with his first-ever Rapperholic Homecoming Concert in Kumasi on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Just a few hours before the highly anticipated event, heavy rains poured down in Kumasi, raising concerns among fans and netizens.

Many began to wonder if the show could attract the massive numbers required to prove it was truly sold out as Sarkodie and his team had earlier announced.

However, by the time the concert kicked off, it became clear that Sarkodie’s influence and fanbase were unmatched.

Fans from all walks of life defied the rains and trooped to the stadium in their thousands. Even though the show started with noticeable empty seats across the VVIP, VIP, and regular sections, the atmosphere quickly changed.

By the early hours of Sunday, September 28, 2025, the entire red section of the stadium allocated for the concert, since the main pitch is currently under renovation, was filled to capacity, with many more fans stranded outside the gates hoping to catch a glimpse of the show.

The night saw Sarkodie deliver an electrifying performance by dropping his timeless classics and recent hits back to back to the delight of the cheering crowd.

He was also joined on stage by a tall list of Ghanaian music heavyweights and rising stars, including Obrafour, Shatta Wale, Medikal, Efya, Kofi Kinaata, Kweku Flick, Lasmid, Olive The Boy, King Paluta, Oseikrom Sikani, Ypee, Kwesi Amewuga, and several others, all of whom kept the energy alive till Sunday morning.

Well, it is evident that Rapperholic Homecoming 2025 has lived up to its hype and it has now solidified its place as one of the most memorable music concerts ever staged in Kumasi despite the heavy downpour earlier in the day.
