Ghanaian-Italian forward Caleb Ekuban, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Serie B side Sampdoria.
The 32-year-old centre-forward became unattached after leaving Genoa on 1 July 2026, having spent the previous five seasons with the Serie A club. Sampdoria are now the club associated with a potential move for the striker as they consider their options in Italy’s second tier.
Ekuban has made 108 Serie A appearances during his career, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists. He also recorded 20 goals in 83 Turkish Super Lig appearances, including during his time with Trabzonspor.
The forward joined Genoa from Trabzonspor in August 2021 in a transfer valued at €2.6m. His spell in Turkey included winning the Turkish Cup in 2020 and the Turkish Super Cup in 2021, as well as being named Player of the Tournament in the 2020-21 campaign.
Ekuban began his senior career in Italy and has also played for Chievo Verona, Sudtirol, Lumezzane and Renate, while spending time in England with Leeds. He made 20 Championship appearances for Leeds, scoring once.
No agreement has been confirmed and there is no indication of a completed deal. Ekuban remains without a club as Sampdoria are linked with a possible move.
