Upper East Region representative Ayinboma was named Star Performer in episode four of the 2026 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) competition, which also featured the first eviction of the series.
The episode placed the 16 contestants at the centre of a celebration of Ghana’s cultural heritage, with performances focused on “Celebrations and Sacred Traditions in Ghana”. Contestants were tasked with presenting some of the country’s major festivals, sacred rites, durbars, harvest celebrations and traditional ceremonies.
They were also expected to explain the meaning, history and legacy of the traditions they chose to showcase, making the episode both a test of performance and cultural knowledge.
Ayinboma secured the night’s main individual award with a presentation on the Denyanga. Her performance drew attention to the courage and resilience of women who protected their communities during slave raids.
The Kivo Woman of the Week award went to Besiwaa of the Central Region. The honour is given to the contestant regarded as the most well-behaved member of the GMB house.
An-Suaf of the Upper West Region was recognised for Best Costume after presenting the sacred Kaka and the Wechiau people. Nana Konadu of the Bono Region, meanwhile, was named Most Eloquent for her presentation of Dɔteyie, the Bono royal transition.
The episode ended with the departure of two contestants. Piini of the North East Region and Nana Ama of the Ahafo Region were eliminated after their combined scores from the judges and viewers’ votes left them at the bottom of the 16-contestant standings.
Their exit marked the first eviction of GMB 2026 and created a significant shift in the competition, with each remaining contestant now facing a smaller field and increased pressure in the weeks ahead.
The night therefore combined awards, cultural storytelling and a decisive competitive moment. While Ayinboma emerged as the leading performer, the episode also highlighted the range of Ghanaian traditions through the contestants’ presentations.
Besiwaa, An-Suaf and Nana Konadu received the other major recognitions, while Piini and Nana Ama became the first contestants to leave the competition.
Fourteen contestants remain in the 2026 Ghana’s Most Beautiful contest. They will continue competing in the coming weeks for the crown, with further performances and eliminations to determine who reaches the later stages of the competition.
