Samia Nkrumah opens CPP photo exhibition

Accra, June 19, GNA – The Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Thursday opened a photo exhibition to showcase the great works of the founder of the party, late President Dr Kwame Nkrumah during his term of office.

The two-day photo exhibition at the National Museum in Accra on the theme, “Transforming National Economy in a Generation” is part of the party’s activities to mark its 60th anniversary. Ms Samia Nkrumah, the daughter of Dr Nkrumah and Member of Parliament for Jomoro who opened the photo exhibition, said the party must unite to achieve its agenda.

Some of the pictures at the exhibition showed Dr Nkrumah’s interaction with foreign dignitaries, including heads of state, the 1965 OAU summit in Accra and meetings with party executives. Other pictures a showed demonstration of CPP members with placards showing their readiness for “self-government now” during the struggle for Ghana’s independence. 19 June 09
