SAEMA/STLOC website launched

Takoradi, Oct. 13, GNA – Mr Edwin Philips, Presiding Member of the Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly (SAEMA), on Friday launched the website of the assembly and the Sekondi-Takoradi Venue Organising Committee (STVOC) of CAN 2008 at Takoradi.

He said the creation of the website was in line with the assembly’s implementation programmes outlined in its ICT policy to market the metropolis internally and externally.

Mr Philips said the website would showcase the investment potentials, tourist attractions and businesses in the metropolis as well as the development projects undertaken by the assembly. Mr Kwame Akonnoh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coastal Network Consortium, the designers of the website, said the website would encourage advertising and make business and other information available to a wide range of people. He said it is targeted at the public and private sectors, non-governmental organisations, local government authorities and Sister City collaboration.

Mr James Kainyiah, Chairman of the Sekondi-Takoradi Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and vice chairman of the STVOC, urged local and international businesses to access the website to cross check business information about the metropolis.
