Odumase-Krobo, Aug 05, GNA – The Manya Krobo District Assembly has endorsed the President’s nominee, Mr David Sackitey Asare, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area. Mr Asare, an educationist, polled 62 out of the 71 votes cast, representing 87.3 percent.
By his endorsement, Mr Asare becomes the last of the 13 DCE’s in the Eastern Region to be confirmed by their assemblies. Before the election Mr Yaw Barimah, the Eastern Regional Minister, said thorough investigations had been conducted into the several petitions made against the nominee and “we are satisfied with the result.”
He said election of Presiding Members and DCEs for Manya Krobo had always been difficult and one time a Deputy Regional Minister had to act as DCE for a long time and pleaded with them to change their attitude to move the district forward. 05 Aug 05
