Rotary Club of Accra Airport donates to Community Youth Centre at Kawukude

At a short ceremony at the center, the Rotary Club of Accra Airport as part of its service to the needy in the community’s has donated 8 sewing machines and sets of tables for the Dressmaking Department at the Community Youth Centre at Kuwukude in Accra.

The Presentation was made by Rotarian Afua Ababio the President Elect of the Accra-Airport City Rotary Club did the donation on behalf of the club.

Mrs. Nana Agyeman Mensah,Past President of the Club, said they saw the need to give a heartwarming help to the department of the Centre to complement their efforts in helping people acquire skills .

She it was part of their professional responsibility to help such people in order to complement their efforts especially with such needs, so the Club’s decided to help with the donation.

Mrs Agyman Mensah said as Rotarians they are always motivated to donate therefore their interest in the Centre was part of it and the value they placed on education, she said.

She said Rotarians are ordinary people who seek to help the needy in society .And also work in and with other communities to identify the needs and find ways which those needs can be met.

The Executive Director of the Centre Madam Akosua Abdellah, thanked the Management of Rotary Club of Accra Airport for the donation, stressing that it would help in improving their studies and improve their work.

Accra-Airport Rotary has so far provided a safe and enabling environment for a lot in the society .The management of club interacted with the students as a way to motivate them to learn .they have been at the forefront at improving the living conditions of the less-privileged in society.

It has been the responsibility of all clubs in the Rotary International fraternity to embark on a major project each year.
