Rotaract gives to Ziavi-Lume pupils

Rotaract Club of Ho on Saturday presented learning materials worth 1,500 Ghana cedis to pupils of Ziavi-Lume Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Primary School in the Ho Municipality.

The materials include exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers and crayons.

Mr Richard Delali Tetteh, President of the Club, said the presentation was prompted by news reports that pupils of the school were in dire need of the materials, most of which their parents could not afford.

He said Rotaract Club, as a “gift to the world” was committed to positively contributing to addressing needs of underprivileged communities.

“Our joy is seeing these girls and boys, who are handicapped through no fault of theirs, get the opportunity to develop and make their contributions to societal development,” Mr Tetteh stated.

The pupils drummed and danced in appreciation of the presentation.

Master Wisdom Fiaku, a class six pupil, who said his dream, was to become a teacher, said “I can now learn and stop thinking about where to get these things for the term.”
