Robbers attack nurse

Sunyani, Feb. 22, GNA – Two alleged armed robbers on Tuesday evening attacked Madam Albertina Deplah, a principal midwife of the Sunyani Government Hospital, when she was returning home after work. Briefing the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, Chief Superintendent Christian Yehonu said the robbers attacked the nurse and her daughter when she got home and was opening her front door.

The two robbers demanded money and mobile phone and when she said she had nothing they pushed her daughter to the ground and searched Madam Deplah.

Chief Superintendent Yehonu said the robbers, who did not get anything from their victim, inflicted wounds on her. She shouted for help and the robbers took to their heels when they saw people coming and in the process dropped a loaded locally manufactured pistol.

Mr Yehonu appealed to the management of the hospital to provide streetlights.
