Roads in Atwima-Kwanwoma to be rehabilitated -DCE

Kantinkyire (Ash), Aug 31, GNA – Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Chief Executive, has assured the people that roads in the area are soon to be rehabilitated. He said tenders had been opened for the award of contracts for the rehabilitation of all major roads in the district. Addressing separate durbars at Kantinkyire, Konkori and Odumase-Afrancho on Thursday as part of his tour to communities in the two areas Mr Addai-Mununkum appealed to them to exercise restraint for the rehabilitation works to begin.

The communities had complained about being neglected and mentioned particularly the deplorable nature of their roads. The DCE told them that the government was very much concerned about their welfare and would therefore do everything to improve their living conditions and implored them to bear with the government if their expectations were not immediately met.

He asked them to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme to ensure that they could receive better health care delivery. Mr Stephen Owusu Boateng, Assemblyman for Konkori-Kantinkyire, appealed to the Assembly to help the community to build a quarter for teachers.

He said all the teachers live in Kumasi and commute daily to school often late.

He said the community had mobilised enough sand and stone for the construction of the quarters and would also provide communal labour.
