Retired police officers appeal for review of their pension

Akim Oda (E/R), March 31, GNA- A group of retired police personnel in the Birim South District in the Eastern Region, have appealed to the government to review their pension scheme. Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region, on Tuesday, the group said since the government announced an increment of 50 percent rise in pensions for all workers with effect from October, last year, retired police personnel were yet to benefit from such increment.

The group said the delay by the Accountant General’s Department to effect the necessary adjustment was making life unbearable for them could not pay school fees of their wards. They therefore, appealed for prompt action to be taken to save them from financial hardships.
