Nkawie (Ash), Feb 1, GNA – Teachers at Achiase near Ntoboroso in the Atwima District who boycotted classes last week in protest the defecation in classrooms have been directed to resume classes immediately.
Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, District Director of Education said severe sanctions would be meted out to them if they refused to go back to school.
He gave the directive when the Chief of Achiase and the School Management Committee (SMC) called on him to inform him of the refusal of the teachers to end their strike despite the amicable settlement of the matter.
Mr Obeng-Darko advised the SMC to create a congenial atmosphere to promote effective and uninterrupted teaching and learning in the school.
