Residents appeal for clinic to be opened

Goaso (B/A), Dec 5, GNA – A 15 million-cedis clinic that was jointly built by the 31st December Women’s Movement and the Local Mobisquad at Bonsiekrom in the Wassa Amanfi District of the Western Region has not been opened for use since its completion 12 years ago. Several attempts by the community to have the clinic commissioned by the district assembly for use have proved futile.

The Ghana News Agency found appeals the people made to the Wassa Amanfi District Assembly at Asankragwa for the facility to be opened have failed.

The chiefs, assembly members and other opinion leaders have therefore appealed to the Ministry of Health and the district assembly to open the clinic.

The chiefs said the situation had slowed down commercial activities in the area and that agricultural production had declined.
