Report early to the hospital with all ailments

The Bosomtwe District Director of Health Service, Mr Joseph Adomako, has called on people, particularly pregnant women, to report early to health facilities for treatment of all ailments.

They should not wait until their situation worsened.

He was speaking at an end of year performance review meeting of the Saint Michael’s Hospital at Pramso.

Mr Adomako commended the management and staff of the hospital for their hard work and dedication, which he said, had resulted in significant increase in out-patients attendance.

He urged them on to continue to maintain high sense of professionalism and step up efforts at ensuring zero per cent maternal deaths in the area.

Mr Kwame Amoateng, the Administrator, appealed for the posting of more midwives to the facility, given the high number of deliveries, it has been supervising.

They would, additionally, need an ambulance to make it easier to respond to emergencies and referrals.

Mr Raphael John Anane, assembly member for Pramso, advised health professionals to have empathy for the sick and to treat them with respect.
