Replace dismissed DCE’s in N/R with women- Assemblywoman

Tamale, Nov. 27, GNA- An Assemblywoman has suggested that women of proven capabilities should be considered for appointment as District Chief Executives to replace the dismissed DCEs from the Northern Region, especially that of Bole and Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo. Madam Lariba Abudu, Assemblywoman for Fungi/Fio Electoral Area of West Mamprusi District, said: ” I was saddened by the dismissal of some of the few female role models in this government especially, in the Northern Region, prominent among whom were the DCEs for Bole and Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo”.

The suggestion was contained in a press statement she issued in Tamale on Tuesday.

It also requested that the DCEs should be given constant training to enhance their performance “rather than waiting to be removed for non-performance”. The Assemblywoman commended the government for attending to the needs of the people of the district following the recent floods, which devastated parts of the Northern Region, adding: “The people are grateful for the prompt attention given them to mitigate their plight”. 27 Nov. 07
