Renew your commitment to Allah – Alhaji Abdul-Sallam

Muslims were on Wednesday asked to use the month of fasting to renew their commitment to the creator by continuously praying for peace and unity in Ghana and beyond.

Alhaji Abdul-Sallam Great Anyass, Governor-General of FAILA, and Tijaniyya Muslim leading member, who made the call in a statement to the Ghana News Agency in Accra cautioned Muslims against the use of spiteful language on national issues during the month of Ramadan.

He said Ramadan is a period of fasting, reflection, devotion, generosity and sacrifice observed by Muslims around the world, adding that It provided an opportunity to develop qualities of endurance and self-restraint, to control anger and a sizzling or malicious tongue.

He stated that FAILA is committed to Educational Development, Peace Advocacy, Youth Empowerment and evangelism in Ghana and beyond.

“As people, we must refrain from passing contemptuous comments when it comes to the election petition as it is a threat to peace, tranquility and sustainability of our Judicial System and young democracy. We must not do anything that will jeopardize the peace we enjoy.

“May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and bring about a peaceful resolution of the election petition at the Supreme Court. May Allah bless our country in this Holy Month of Ramadan and the months to come,” he said.

Alhaji Abdul-Sallam said his outfit would continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and unity the country had enjoyed over the years.
