Rejoinder – NDC Canada Chapter Holds Victory Celebrations In Montreal

Our attention has been drawn to a report published on Ghanaweb, Diasporian News section of Tuesday February 17, 2009 issued by a group purportedly calling itself NDC Canada Chapter.

We, the members of NDC Canada Chapter wish to categorically state that in line with our agenda of comprehensive dialogue, we do not intend to engage ourselves in any kind of polemic with anybody or group of persons intending to cause mischief. However, we view such actions to misinform the public as grave, alarming and something that must not be left to pass without any comment.

In view of this we wish to set the records straight as follows: We completely dissociate ourselves from the above statement issued by this group.

No such victory party was organized by NDC Canada Chapter in Montreal on Saturday February 14, 2009.

No National delegates’ congress was held on Saturday February 14, 2009 to elect any new National Executives for NDC Canada Chapter as contained in the statement from this group, and Our National Executive Committee remains unchanged.

We wish to remind our membership and the Ghanaian community at large here in Canada of our earlier warning of the activities of some persons who are desperate and will stop at nothing in abusing the party’s victory for their own selfish gains.

Finally, we want to assure our membership and the entire Ghanaian community in Canada that, we are firmly committed to our agenda of making sure that the government of Ghana led by His Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills succeeds in respecting the mandate given us by the good people of Ghana.
