Reggie Rockstone Praises Firefighters After Accra Tourist Centre Blaze: Says “They Did Their Best”

Ghanaian music legend Reggie Rockstone has commended firefighters for their swift response to the fire that gutted parts of the Accra Tourist Information Centre in Cantonments, Accra, earlier today.

In a heartfelt gesture, the hiplife pioneer personally delivered food packs to members of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) who battled the blaze in the early hours of Monday, August 04, 2025. He also used the moment to appeal to the public to refrain from blaming the firefighters for the extent of the damage.

“They did their best,” Rockstone said. “Before we rush to criticize, let’s appreciate the tough conditions under which these men and women work. They arrived on time and tried everything to stop the fire from spreading.”

According to the GNFS, the fire started around 1:02 a.m. and had reached a “fully developed stage” by the time the first fire engine arrived just two minutes later. It took nearly six hours and support from five fire stations to fully extinguish the flames. While the first floor was completely destroyed, crews successfully saved several ground-floor offices and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

No injuries were reported, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.

Reggie Rockstone’s gesture was widely applauded on social media, with many Ghanaians praising him for supporting frontline responders and highlighting the importance of solidarity in the face of national emergencies.
